Dave provided turnkey management of the Project Management Institute Orange County Chapter’s 2012 project management conference, which offered business analysts, project managers, and project team members opportunities to learn, share, and network. The event also included the proclamation of “Project Management Day” by Orange County’s mayors, state assemblymen, a U. S. Congressman, and other dignitaries, as well as a color guard ceremony in remembrance of 9/11.
Dave presented an interactive, half-day workshop about leading innovation, with a focus on how to apply tools to lead sustaining or disruptive innovation. The workshop was part of the Project Management Institute Orange County Chapter’s Advanced Topics Seminars/Professional Development Program.

As part of the 2012 Southland Technology Conference, Dave made an hour presentation about IT service management (ITSM), discussing among other topics the PM practices used in the implementation of ITSM, planning tips to successfully deliver an ITSM process improvement project, and marketing ideas to socialize the message to the organization.
In an interview recorded at the 2013 Southland Technology Conference, Dave discusses the presentation he gave at the PMI North American Congress in New Orleans in which he argues that social media, mobile devices, analytics and cloud computing (SMAC) have combined to create a technology ecosystem that supports disruptive and sustaining innovation.
